The Story: Women go on gathering trips together to collect wild foods and medicines. When Bernadine paints of these times, she is painting of gathering with her “sisters”. The U shapes are the women, they have their digging sticks and coolamons and have been collecting bush tucker, teas and medicines. The U shapes around the circles show the places the women have stopped and made camp.  When they are stopped along the water, they use their stick to dig under the dry sand and find fresh water.
