The Story: Caitlyn is a proud Barkindji woman living on Kaurna Country in Adelaide. This painting tells the story of Caitlyn’s 8-day Kokoda trek journey in 2017. Caitlyn was fortunate to travel the trek with Reconciliation SA and the school she worked at during that time. The focus of the trek was reconciliation and honouring the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander soldiers who fought on the trek but were never recognised when they arrived home.
