The Story: This painting by Eva both celebrates and maps the many rock holes on her Country from a bird’s eye view. All water sources are of course critically important on vast dry lands and knowledge of their location, seasonal relevance (ie when water is present and for how long) and how to maintain their integrity is necessary for survival.  Separate to soakage’s or waterholes, rock holes are seasonally filled for a variable amount of time and the important knowledge about them is passed down through ceremony and song
